Cybersecurity Engineering Intern Role

As a Cybersecurity Engineering Intern at Aptiv, you will work at the intersection of automotive technology and digital security. You will assist in the design and implementation of cybersecurity solutions for advanced vehicle systems, including connected car technologies and user experience interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and implementation of cybersecurity solutions for advanced vehicle systems.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and threat analysis on critical vehicle systems to identify potential security risks.
  • Support the development of encryption, authentication, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard vehicle networks and user data.
  • Contribute to the development and automation of security testing frameworks to validate system robustness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure cybersecurity best practices are integrated into system design and development processes.
  • Analyze real-world attack scenarios and help develop countermeasures to prevent security breaches in vehicle systems.
  • Prepare and present cybersecurity reports, outlining findings, risks, and proposed solutions to internal teams.

Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including encryption, secure communication, and network security.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, with a focus on security applications.
  • Familiarity with automotive protocols like CAN, LIN, or Ethernet is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical approach to identifying vulnerabilities and developing solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for cybersecurity and an eagerness to learn about emerging threats in the automotive industry.
