Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Youth Treatment Specialist to join our team at Wisconsin Community Services. As a key member of our Bakari Youth Residential Care Center, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support to youth aged 13-17 in a state-licensed residential care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to youth, teaching skills and empowering them through a 6-month treatment program.
  • Implement daily schedules of activities, including group educational sessions, recreational activities, and educational support.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor and document youth participation in activities and interactions with others.
  • Transport youth to medical appointments, court, community appointments, and family visits.
  • Assist with meal preparation, general building cleanliness, and organization.
  • Support youth in completing activities of daily living, such as chores and health and hygiene standards.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 21 years old, with a minimum of one year of experience serving children with mental health needs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including first and second shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license, automobile, and insurance sufficient to meet agency requirements.
  • Ability to display cultural competence and respond respectfully to people of all cultures, languages, classes, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions, and other diversity factors.
Working Conditions
  • State-licensed residential care center.
  • Local travel required to fulfill essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to provide coverage as needed.

  • Maintain professional and respectful relationships with all WCS staff, youth, and families, and all external funding sources and community partners involved with Bakari Center.
