Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Person to join our team at Louisiana State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for our computer systems, networks, and software applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for approximately 30 faculty and staff and 60 graduate students, including on-site support, network support, and maintenance of client-server applications and licenses.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of all electronic equipment in the Department and conduct the annual inventory of said equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining and renewing software licenses, including working with companies on agreements and G&G Business manager and other needed LSU personnel on agreement processing.
  • Serve as technical liaison between the Department, Information Technology Services, and outside affiliates, attending TSP meetings with ITS and submitting a report/minutes of meeting to direct supervisor.
  • Perform other duties or assist with projects as assigned by supervisor (Business Manager & Assistant to the Chair) and Chair.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with specific experience of System administration and maintenance.
  • Detailed knowledge of configurations and maintenance of Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X operating systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP network protocol and commonly used applications such as MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years specific experience of System administration and maintenance.
