Job Summary

The Graduate and Professional Studies Office at Southern Adventist University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as the Director of Physical Therapy Programs. This is a full-time position responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Direct the development of the DPT program, including curriculum design, faculty recruitment, and clinical education program development.
  • Accreditation: Manage the CAPTE accreditation process, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Faculty and Staff Management: Coordinate the search process for DPT program faculty and staff, and provide leadership and guidance to ensure the success of the program.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
  • Teaching and Service: Develop and teach graduate physical therapy courses, and engage in scholarly activities and service to the university and profession.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in physical therapy (DPT or Master's degree), and a second academic doctoral degree (or previous CAPTE-granted exemption) in a relevant field.
  • Experience: At least six years of full-time higher education experience, including a minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience as a core faculty member in a CAPTE-accredited entry-level physical therapist education program.
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted PT license.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines.
