Purpose and Scope:
As a valued member of the Dialysis Care Center team, the In-Center Hemodialysis Registered Nurse plays a critical role in supporting the mission, core values, and customer service standards of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and mentors Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to ensure exceptional patient care.
  • Reviews new staff documentation for accuracy and ensures compliance with HDS/DCC Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, pre-evaluation, initiation, monitoring, termination, access homeostasis, and post-evaluation of dialysis.
  • Assesses patients' response to hemodialysis treatment therapy and makes adjustments as prescribed by the physician.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and infection preventative measures and performs routine safety and infection audits.
  • Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure patient outcomes are met and educates patients and family members on all aspects of End Stage Renal Disease.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, RN or BSN.
  • Current state licensure as a RN.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Minimum of 6 months hemodialysis experience preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
The In-Center Hemodialysis Registered Nurse works in a fast-paced healthcare environment, interacting with patients, staff, and vendors. The position requires travel between assigned facilities and various locations. The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. The employee may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/materials. Must be able to lift 30 pounds as needed.
