Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team in Fort Washington, PA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for equipment ownership, managing capital projects, and providing technical leadership and engineering support to our manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all tasks based on the responsibilities for project phases (Concept, Planning, Design, Implementation and Post-Implementation).
  • Provide technical support for engineering projects including equipment design and development, capital project execution, manufacturing technical support, new product introduction and process improvement initiatives.
  • Conceives, plans, and implements solutions of considerable novelty and importance as well as develops and evaluates plans for solving a variety of unique and complex engineering problems.
  • Contributes new designs or techniques, which support and further the company's strategic business objectives.
  • Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client satisfaction, goals, and objectives.
  • Prepares or approves technical memos, reports, analyzes and summarizes data, and recommends conclusions based on engineering/technical rationale.
  • Responsible for the technical support and expertise for manufacturing troubleshooting and quality investigations.
  • Leads a technical team or primary technical lead on cross functional teams.
  • Reviews and approves Commissioning and Qualification documentation such as plans, protocols, and reports as required.
  • Develops, delivers, and maintains engineering project schedules, resources, and budgets for assigned projects to meet project objectives on time and within budget.
  • Prepares and leads review of project proposals, charters, project updates for assigned projects for management.
  • Independently manages projects from concept to post implementation for complex projects.
  • Provides technical direction to external resources (eg, designers, suppliers, contractors, consultants).
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert regarding changes/improvements/CIPs and sustainability.
  • Develops technical engineering strategies in support of companywide business plan.
  • Monitors industry trends, benchmarks, and leverages engineering expertise across the company.
  • Provides overall project leadership and mentorship to peers.
Qualifications

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (or equivalent) and at least 8 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or consumer products company. Relevant experience in engineering, technical, and/or operations is required. Knowledge of cGMPs and Good Documentation Practices is also required.

Desired qualifications include knowledge of client/server architecture and connectivity concepts, computer system validation, and basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office software - Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Six Sigma Green Belt/Black certification and Project Management certification are also preferred.
