Job Summary

As a Tax Specialist, you will be responsible for accurate and timely preparation of select Federal related processes, including tax depreciation. You will also assist with the compilation and processing of premium tax returns, premium tax accruals, and certain state income tax estimates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely preparation of select Federal related processes (e.g., tax depreciation).
  • Assist with the compilation and processing of premium tax returns, premium tax accruals, and certain state income tax estimates.
  • Assist in gathering data requirements for all aspects of informational tax filings (e.g., 1099, W-2, 5498) and assist with filing reconciliations (e.g., IRS forms 941, 945).
  • Research and draft response for notices and inquiries from taxing authorities, vendors, and other internal departments.
  • Accurate and timely tracking, remitting, and/or filing of guaranty fund assessments.
  • Responsible for municipal tax and sales & use tax filings.
  • Prepare tax account reconciliation on a periodic basis.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in accounting required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1+ years of corporate tax experience required.
  • Entry-level knowledge of tax and accounting processes and procedures.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to context, substance, and detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and within a collaborative team-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel) and the ability to learn new software.
