Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team at Ascension Seton. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will play a critical role in implementing and supervising physical exercise programs for patients, providing patient testing and assessment, and planning and teaching exercise therapy.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and supervise physical exercise programs for patients
  • Provide patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation
  • Plan and teach exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status, and current medication regimen
  • Monitor patient's response and revise plan accordingly
  • Recognize contraindications and abnormal patient responses to exercise
  • Respond appropriately to all situations, including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals
  • Provide exercise information for patients, peers, and the community, which may include public speaking and education classes
  • Ensure department equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly
  • Prepare, develop, and maintain various files, records, reports; schedule patient appointments as required
  • Provide oversight to department activities in the absence of the manager
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required
  • Exercise Physiologist specializing in Strength & Conditioning credentialed from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Additional Preferences: Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science/Physiology or other related Allied health Studies with a minimum of 3 months internship within Cardiac Rehab; AACVPR Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional certification or ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification preferred
