Faculty Position in Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences

The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified individual for a faculty position. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical services to the Medical Center's general adult psychiatry unit and addictions services. They will also participate in supervision and training of psychiatry residents, fellows, and medical students. The incumbent may be required to provide consult liaison service care, call for nights and weekends, and backup call for psychiatry service. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician with interests in academic psychiatry and addictions psychiatry, teaching, and research.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services to the Medical Center's general adult psychiatry unit and addictions services
  • Participate in supervision and training of psychiatry residents, fellows, and medical students
  • Provide consult liaison service care, call for nights and weekends, and backup call for psychiatry service
Qualifications
  • MD, DO, or equivalent by appointment start date
  • Board-certified in Psychiatry by appointment start date
Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
