Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer I to join our team at Arkansas Children's Hospital. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our Central Energy Plant machinery to ensure maximum comfort levels and a stable supply of utilities in all connected buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain HVAC, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, emergency electrical generation, medical gas, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose equipment problems using electrical/mechanical troubleshooting tools and take corrective action.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to alarms to minimize machinery damage and inconvenience to customers.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of plant events.
  • Conduct basic inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on machinery in accordance with preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain and increase knowledge of machines/systems and their operating characteristics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year of hospital-specific Central Energy Plant operation experience or related field experience
  • Recommended: Enrolled in electrical or mechanical apprenticeship or college/technical school engineering program
Preferred Certifications
  • Boiler Operator License - Arkansas Department of Labor Boiler Operator's License Division
  • Industrial Maintenance Electrician (License) - Arkansas Board of Electrical Examiners
  • Universal Technician Certification - Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
