Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide professional, highly technical nursing care to all cardiovascular patients, while assisting physicians during all cardiovascular procedures.
Function as a liaison for patients, patient's families, and physicians, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
Assist physicians in the operation of technical equipment utilized during all procedures, maintaining a high level of proficiency and expertise.
Maintain complete documentation of cardiovascular procedures, adhering to strict quality control standards.
Participate in in-services, continuing education, and workshops to remain abreast of new procedures and current technologies, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
Accountable for the maintenance of quality control in all areas of the lab, ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
Provide a secure and safe environment for patients and staff, maintaining constant awareness of safety hazards and taking proactive measures to mitigate risks.
Assist in the development of new operating procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Requirements

Typically requires 2 years of cardiac cath lab experience, with demonstrated proficiency in PTCA, EPS preferred.
AAS in RTR, or RTN license, or a minimum of 5 years of experience as RTR or RTN experience preferred.
Minimum of 12 CEU hours per year, with a focus on cardiovascular technology and patient care.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to anticipate patient and unit needs.
Ability to teach procedures to staff, with a focus on quality patient care and safety.
Current License in the state of IL as a RTR, RTN, RCVT, or Paramedic (EMT-P), with ACLS, IABP, and RCIS certification within two years of employment.
Ability to function in a high-stress environment, lift and move heavy patients and equipment, stand for long periods of time, and work flexible hours and on-call basis.
