Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our team responsible for designing, developing and shipping one of the world's best known websites - the Amazon homepage. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to challenge the status quo, respect the need to be nimble and develop solutions for our most pressing opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience, with a strong foundation in object-oriented design and programming languages such as Java, C++, or C#. Additionally, they will possess knowledge of professional software engineering best practices, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.

Requirements

* 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
* 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
* Experience programming with at least one software programming language
* Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

* 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
* Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
* Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

What We Offer

A competitive base salary of $162,950/year in our lowest geographic market, up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market, plus equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
