We are currently in search of qualified candidates for the Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) role at AdventHealth Connerton.


GENERAL OVERVIEW:


Under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officer, the CNE provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that effective and efficient systems, processes, and personnel are in place to fulfill the organization’s mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.

The CNE collaborates with other executive team members to develop and lead both short- and long-term strategic initiatives for nursing.

Key responsibilities include the continuous enhancement of nursing services and the professional development of nursing staff to meet the needs and expectations of the community served.

Promotes, supports, and exemplifies a service-oriented culture that prioritizes employee engagement, quality, patient safety, service excellence, fiscal responsibility, and an exceptional patient experience.

Fosters and maintains effective collegial relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative

Participates in critical decisions regarding organizational strategies and direction.

In collaboration with fellow executive team members, formulates and executes strategies and plans to achieve desired performance and growth.


Develops and implements operational strategies to enhance performance in quality, safety, patient experience, physician collaboration, financial sustainability, and the future design of healthcare systems.

Engages with the governing body, management, medical staff, and clinical leaders in the hospital's decision-making processes.

Holds accountability, authority, and responsibility for nursing services.


Responsible for establishing an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess, and enhance the quality of nursing care, treatment, and services provided to patients.

Sets comprehensive goals for performance and growth.

Utilizes and optimizes effective systems for resource management in nursing, including patient acuity and staffing applications.

Accountable for developing the budget for patient care services.

Leadership

Communicates organizational objectives, strategies, and plans to leaders and staff.


Inspires and leads a high-performing, diverse leadership team; attracts, recruits, and retains directors in designated areas; provides coaching and professional development opportunities and serves as a resource.


Leads a multidisciplinary workforce that delivers clinically competent, efficient, and compassionate care in a professionally rewarding environment.

Develops and implements a succession plan for nursing leadership.

Encourages innovation and creative solutions to address complex clinical challenges.

Creates a conducive working environment that emphasizes teamwork.

Strategically develops partnerships with educational institutions to enhance the clinical workforce.

Accountable for representing the nursing profession and acting as its spokesperson.

Regulatory

Supports and upholds the scope of practice, professional standards, compliance efforts, regulatory readiness, and risk prevention and mitigation.

Accountable for establishing nursing policies and procedures, and implementing nursing standards of patient care, treatment, and services.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Leadership skills including communication, team building, and prioritization.

Effective verbal, oral, and written communication skills.
