Role Overview:

The client is in search of a proficient and knowledgeable contractor to facilitate the Direct Materials Sourcing initiatives and assist in the deployment of a new ERP system (SAP) across various client locations. This position is crucial for ensuring a seamless transition from Oracle to SAP, with a focus on procurement data and processes. The ideal candidate will possess substantial expertise in SAP, sourcing strategies, and ERP migrations, complemented by exceptional attention to detail and time management capabilities. This role will report to the Associate Director of Procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transactional Leadership: Act as the lead for transactional sourcing processes and serve as the SAP Subject Matter Expert, promoting best practices for effective ERP implementation.
  • Consultation and Support: Provide consulting and escalation support as the SAP Procurement Champion.
  • Training: Educate Site Procurement Teams and Stakeholders on SAP Procurement functions to ensure precise execution of procurement processes.
  • Project Participation: Engage in all project program sessions as a transactional expert, ensuring adherence to procurement timelines and milestones.
  • Process Consistency: Maintain uniformity in site and global transactional practices throughout the migration process for all procurement-related activities.
  • Data Migration Assistance: Offer transactional support in reviewing data during the transition from one ERP system to another, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Procurement Data Management: Ensure alignment on sourcing strategies, including lead times, pricing, and vendor identification.
  • Verification and Validation: Create and validate Site Procurement Data Files to support data loads.
  • Testing: Conduct user acceptance testing for data migration focusing on supplier lists and purchasing records.
  • Post-Go-Live Support: Assist in cutover planning and post-implementation activities.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor setup during the ERP transition.
  • Dual Sourcing Maintenance: Update and manage dual sourcing strategies as necessary.
  • Supplier List Support: Provide assistance with Approved Supplier List updates and material qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of diverse procurement experience is required.
  • Experience in direct procurement is advantageous.
  • Background in a technical or operational role within the relevant industry is preferred.
  • Prior experience in cGMP environments in biopharmaceuticals or medical devices is highly desirable.
  • Experience with SAP implementation in Procurement & Supply Planning is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP and/or other ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications are required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPM/CPSM/CSCP/CPIM) are preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally as a vital member of the project team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging at various organizational levels.
  • Proactive and analytical mindset focused on continuous improvement in procurement services.
  • Demonstrated independence and initiative in work tasks.
