Role Summary

As a Shipfitter, you will play a crucial role in the maritime construction industry. Your primary responsibilities will include the fabrication, assembly, and installation of metal components essential for the development of modular units used in the construction of marine vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize various tools and equipment to ensure precise assembly and fitting of metal parts.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, ensuring accuracy in measurements and specifications.
  • Operate equipment such as grinders and perform tack welding as required.
  • Execute tasks in confined spaces and at heights, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a productive work environment.
Qualifications
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant craft experience.
  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Ability to read a tape measure in both standard and metric units.
  • Familiarity with hand tools including combination squares, framing squares, and plumb bobs.
  • Knowledge of burning and beveling techniques using various equipment.
  • Must pass a drug test and E-Verify.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and in various weather conditions.
