Marine Biologist

Are you passionate about marine biology and conservation? Do you have a strong background in biology and a desire to work in the field? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marine Biologist to join our team at AIS, LLC.

We are looking for a Marine Biologist to work on commercial fishing vessels in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and recording data on fish catch and discard, as well as incidental takes such as marine mammals, seabirds, and marine turtles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine biology, data collection and analysis, and experience working in the field.

• Collect and record data on fish catch and discard
• Conduct marine mammal and seabird surveys
• Collect and analyze data on incidental takes
• Work with commercial fishing vessels in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology or Biology
• At least 30 credits of biology coursework and 6 credits of marine science
• Experience with data entry on computers
• U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Physical ability to perform biologist duties
• Ability to commit to the program for at least one year

• At-sea experience
• Coursework in Dichotomous Keys
