Job Title: Senior Java Software Developer

Omitron is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Software Developer to join our team. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the next generation of satellite spaceflight safety systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop software to screen satellite orbits for hazards
  • Interface with multiple teammates to develop applications to provide data to a scalable cloud service platform
  • Support and plan Agile sprints to break software development tasks into logical and efficient software packages
  • Work with advanced analysts and system tier support to create procedures in support of ongoing operations
  • Evaluate incoming scientific data for reasonableness

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship required
  • Security Clearance: active Top Secret / SCI security clearance with a willingness to take a CI Polygraph required
  • Education: Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience in software engineering or software development with Java

Desired Qualifications:

  • Oracle Java Certification (or equivalent)
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (or equivalent)
  • Red Hat Linux experience
  • Experience with development tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins
