We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our team at SimonComputing, Inc.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a modernization project for a mission-critical program at the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).

As a Cloud and Agile Expert, you will provide Agile development and maintenance support for the project, working closely with a team of developers to design, code, test, and deploy software solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting all aspects of software development, including designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining products.
  • Collaborating with software developers, analysts, and other project team members using Agile SCRUM methodology to deliver features that enhance system capabilities and further DOC's mission.
  • Translating customer needs into user stories and delivering working capabilities at the conclusion of each sprint.
  • Participating and/or leading sprint demonstrations and facilitating implementation of agreed-upon ideas identified at retrospectives.
  • Effectively communicating technical challenges, options considered, and the recommended solution to senior leaders.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in software development.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SnowFlake, Azure Cloud Environment, and Microsoft Development tools is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency and knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, SpringBoot, SQL, and preferred experience with Jira or a similar scrum management tool.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain clearance.
