Job SummaryThe Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to implement and execute established treatment plans. This includes providing occupational therapy intervention on an individual basis or in groups, on-site, in-home, or at non-BIA sites.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the occupational therapist to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the needs of our clients.
- Provide high-quality occupational therapy services, including training clients in the use of assistive technology and optical devices.
- Effectively communicate with the occupational therapist and other team members to ensure seamless client care.
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records using our electronic documentation system.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advances in low vision protocols, devices, and services.
- Participate in BIA seminars, marketing activities, and special events to promote low vision services and the organization's programs.
To be successful in this role, you must have a graduate degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program and be licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) and the California Board of Occupational Therapy. A minimum of two years of clinical practice experience, preferably in pediatrics and geriatrics, is also required.
Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time position working in a standard office environment with adaptive devices for low vision. Travel may be required to visit clients and make presentations.
