Job Description

Job Summary:

College Possible AmeriCorps is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as a College Access and Success Coach. As a Coach, you will play a critical role in supporting high school students in their pursuit of higher education. You will work closely with students to develop their college plans, provide guidance on the college application process, and offer support throughout their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach college preparatory classes to underserved high school students
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to students to develop their college plans
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of all students' interests, needs, and backgrounds
  • Perform follow-up parent/student phone calls
  • Collect, organize, and maintain student and program documents
  • Update the database and spreadsheet files weekly; maintain student records and statistics
  • Provide mid-year and year-end progress reports for all students
  • Coordinate with the College Success Team to provide college transition services to graduating high school seniors
  • Submit weekly timesheets, periodic reports, and other service-related documentation as required
  • Attend required programmatic and community service events

Requirements:

  • You are a U.S. citizen; AmeriCorps members are required to be U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents
  • You have obtained a bachelor's degree
  • You must clear a National Service Criminal History Check and all other security and health requirements set forth by College Possible and the school district in which you serve before the start of training
