Responsibilities

As a Clinical Dietitian, you will coordinate the nutritional care of residents, completing nutritional assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and documenting dietary information. You will also ensure that the diet plan is consistent with regional direction and consult with residents to evaluate their nutritional needs.

You will assess nutritional needs using assessment tools, develop a nutrition care plan, make appropriate referrals to other care providers, and conduct follow-up visits to monitor resident progress. You will also document care information, participate in case conferences, and consult with team members regarding residents' needs.

You will clinically supervise residents with high-risk conditions, such as diabetes and obesity, and identify the need for and develop nutritional education materials and tools to assist residents. You will also conduct staff training related to nutrition and attend conferences, meetings, and educational programs to maintain currency in the field of nutrition.

Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition Science, or a related field and two years of experience in nutritional counseling. You must be currently licensed as a Registered Dietitian and have a valid driver's license with a current 3-year driving abstract with no more than one moving violation.

You will apply existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department, using sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems. You will possess extensive knowledge of nutrition, including the nutritional problems of various age, cultural, social, and economic groups, and principles of program planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

This role requires standing, walking, sitting, and occasional weekend, evening, or night work. You will use your hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with your hands and arms, and possibly be exposed to communicable diseases and infections. You will also be able to lift up to 5 pounds and be subject to injury from falls, burns, odors, or cuts from equipment.

This role requires occasional travel and may involve exposure to blood-borne pathogens, various drugs, chemical, infectious, or biological hazards. You will be required to have vision and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
