Senior Finance and Tax Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance and Tax Accountant to join our team at AcctPositions. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing expert tax and financial guidance to our clients in the real estate industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tax compliance and planning services to our clients, including tax returns, extensions, and estimates.
  • Coordinate with internal accounting teams and external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
  • Calculate tax gains on sales of assets and ensure compliance with Section 1031 like-kind exchanges.
  • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly NY Sales tax returns.
  • Monitor multi-year tax projections for REITs and ensure compliance with dividend coverage requirements.
  • Calculate quarterly tax accrual entries for REIT and TRS entities.
  • Address tax notices from all jurisdictions and ensure timely responses.
  • Review sub-lease agreements between Taxable REIT Subsidiaries and ensure compliance.
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits of income tax, sales & use tax, franchise tax, etc.
  • Calculate periodic taxable income estimates for various JV partners.
  • Prepare W-9s, POAs, and other simple tax forms for requesting vendors.
  • Assist with Special Finance Projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of tax experience at a large or regional CPA firm with real estate clients, or experience with a corporate real estate company.
  • CPA and/or masters in tax preferred but not required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting.

We offer a competitive salary of $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year, depending on experience. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for tax and finance, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
