Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our Special Education team. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing instructional programs and providing support to students with special needs.
  • Monitor student progress and performance, collecting data and maintaining records as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a professional rapport with the classroom teacher and other staff members.
  • Assist students with arrival and dismissal, as well as during lunch and recess periods.
  • Participate in professional development and in-service trainings to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • An Associate's degree or completion of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours at an institution of higher learning.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics via state or locally approved competency test.
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, balance, stoop, climb steps, and reach overhead.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time non-exempt classified position, working 7 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 10 months per year. The salary is administered consistent with negotiated agreement or board adopted salary schedule.

The offer of employment is contingent upon obtaining and providing verification of all licenses, certificates, and other requirements for the position, as well as a background check and verification of U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
