Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team at Omaha Public Schools. The successful candidate will provide support to our Early Childhood Inclusive classroom, working closely with teachers and students to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and implementation, providing individualized support to students as needed.
  • Help with classroom management, including supervising students during transitions and activities.
  • Assist with daily routines, such as toileting, washing, and dressing students.
  • Support students with special needs, including lifting and positioning.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or 48 semester hours of college credit.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and adapt to the physical demands of the position.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a 7-hour workday, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be able to adapt to changing circumstances.
