About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at AEG. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the planning, preparation, and presentation of our menu offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in creating and implementing menu concepts and recipes
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of menu items, ensuring high-quality standards are met
  • Lead and direct the work of the kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and other support staff
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation, presentation, and sanitation procedures
  • Assist in the management of kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies
  • Participate in menu planning and development, including creating new menu items and specials
  • Assist in the implementation of food safety and sanitation procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other members of the culinary team to achieve business objectives and goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or other management personnel
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior sous chef or executive sous chef role, preferably in a high-volume food service environment
  • Proven track record of success in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of kitchen staff
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with the ability to implement and maintain high standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and quality
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform other physical demands of the job
Working Environment

The Executive Sous Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a high level of activity and noise. The position requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a high level of communication and collaboration with other members of the culinary team.
