Radiation Oncology LPN Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Radiation Oncology. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing patient care, health teaching, and a safe environment to patients in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist registered nurses and physicians in collecting data on patients' physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions.
  • Organize and prioritize nursing care activities, considering patient needs and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs, as directed by registered nurses and physicians.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of care and progressing patients toward desired outcomes.
  • Develop and implement patient/family teaching plans based on identified health education needs.
  • Provide a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  • Assume responsibility for professional development and contribute to the development of others.
  • Demonstrate teamwork in delivering patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
  • No experience required.
  • Licensure to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification.
  • May require a valid Virginia Driver's License (VADL).
Physical Demands:
  • Standing for prolonged periods.
  • Frequent traveling and bending/stooping.
  • Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 20-50lbs.
