**Overview of the Position:**

The New Orleans Jewish Community Center is seeking a qualified Musical Director for our Children's Theatre Production Company. This part-time position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with a talented team of arts educators.

**Job Summary:**

We are looking for an experienced musical director who can lead and inspire our young performers in their musical theatre journey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and musical directing, with experience working with school-aged students and differing levels of musicianship.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Attend and provide all musical accompaniment and instruction for classes, rehearsals, and performances
  • Teach and uphold the integrity of all vocal and instrumental components within the CTPC programming
  • Assist young performers with songs and learning vocal parts
  • Participate in production meetings, special events, and trainings required
  • Understand and enforce safety procedures at the JCC

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • A minimum of 2 years prior experience teaching and/or musical directing (experience with school-aged students preferred)
  • Experience directing musical theatre productions is preferred
  • Extensive experience working with differing levels of musicianship, age groups, and learning abilities
  • Ability to plan, write, and execute a well-thought-out, age-appropriate curriculum for preparatory musical theatre classes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, a willingness to collaborate with peers and colleagues, enjoys working on a team, and can be flexible

**Estimated Salary:** $15,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
