Job Summary:

The Diabetes and Glandular Disease Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our clinic. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our medical assistants and support staff, ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of medical assistants and support staff
  • Monitor patient flow and wait times, ensuring efficient and safe delivery of services
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly schedules of clinical medical assistant staff
  • Collaborate with front desk and communication supervisor to identify operational problems and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Monitor and schedule high-cost tests and procedures under physician orders
  • Provide administrator with information and reports as needed to prepare for annual budgets
  • Manage patient assistance program, including forms completion and submission
  • Orient and train medical assistant staff to their job category and responsibilities
  • Complete employee evaluations and fulfill continuing education needs of subordinates
  • Acquire supplies and equipment needed for day-to-day clinic operation
  • Troubleshoot patient concerns and complaints, addressing them immediately and managing lessons learned
  • Mentor staff and supervisors in clinic policies and procedures
  • Meet with provider and management staff to ensure open communication and push forward clinic changes and improvements

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • At least 3-5 years experience in a Medical Assistant and LVN supervisory position
  • Experience with team management, creating policies and procedures, and understanding government regulations
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and supervise and train staff
  • Skills in budget preparation and fiscal management, communication, and employee development and performance management

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. No or very limited physical effort required. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
