About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Automation Engineer to join our team at GOSH. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our on-premise and cloud-based network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our network environments, including on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, and operate secure, manageable, and normalized switched and routed networks, aligned with industry best practices.
  • Foster the definition and tracking of key performance metrics, operating and monitoring system platforms and processes accordingly.
  • Evolve delivery and operational processes, procedures, and utilities, particularly proactive monitoring and alerting.
  • Develop, validate, and update key network engineering artifacts, such as standards, best practices, design documents, and decisions.
  • Design and document solutions to meet security and run-time requirements, ensuring scalability for the enterprise.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and incorporate them into solutions and mechanisms to enhance security, performance, and user experience.
  • Transform, integrate, and automate network infrastructure to tightly integrate with SDN (Software Defined Networking).
  • Develop and write automation scripts using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and Napalm.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network-related issues to support application support and delivery teammates.
  • Participate in network health diagnostics and optimization via proper monitoring and capacity planning, working to automate self-healing.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancers is essential.
  • Very strong technical knowledge of enterprise networking solutions for large environments.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, leadership ability, strong team player who thrives in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Experience vetting, onboarding, and managing third-party implementation/managed service partners and developing junior talent for similar services.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments, and projects.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with frameworks and APIs is important.
  • Worked in a team using Agile methodologies with experience influencing or evolving operational processes.
  • Comfort traveling to various locations as necessary for implementation, upgrade, triage/support activities.
Qualifications
  • S. Degree in Computer Science or a minimum of 10 years of networking experience in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in designing, supporting/troubleshooting, and deploying network configurations.
  • 3+ years of experience working with automation tooling (Ansible, Terraform, Napalm).
  • Extensive experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
  • Experience with VPN technology, including remote user access, branch office connectivity, monitoring, and fault isolation.
  • Experience with wireless technologies, including 802.11b/g/n, WAP configuration, 802.1x, site surveys, monitoring, and fault isolation preferred.
  • Experience with packet capture hardware/software (Ethereal, Sniffer) to support fault isolation.
  • Experience with Data Center centric, Cloud services, and Software Defined Networking required.
  • Experience designing to and abiding by security and compliance frameworks, like PCI.
  • Experience selecting and deploying third-party network implementation and managed support outlets and/or developing internal network competency.
  • Non-biased view of technologies and versatile wield of industry-leading vendor technology; experience with the following technologies desired: Meraki Security Appliances, Switches, and Access Points, Fortinet suite, Ubiquiti suite, Brink POS and network standards, E2EE/tokenized payment processing and EMV devices (experience with Heartland or ParPay as processor ideal), Comprehensive logging, monitoring, alerting solutions.
