Assistant Professor of Nursing

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Nursing to join our faculty team at Connecticut State Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in the discipline area of study, evaluating and assessing student learning, and providing student support and academic advising.
Key Responsibilities- Teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year in a variety of delivery systems, including lecture, hybrid, and online formats.
- Evaluate and assess student learning, providing feedback and guidance to students.
- Provide student support and academic advising, including guidance on course selection and career development.
- Plan and execute program-related events, such as guest lectures and workshops.
- Assist with program reviews and curriculum development.
- Periodically evaluate teaching materials and attend workshops and conferences to maintain currency in the profession and field.
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Eligibility for or current unencumbered CT RN licensure.
- Four (4) years' college teaching experience, or two (2) years' college teaching experience with four (4) or more years of clinical nursing experience.
- Proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong information technology literacy skills.
- Experience using simulation to teach in a nursing skills lab.
- Experience teaching Medical-Surgical Nursing in an acute care setting.
- Experience as an instructor in a healthcare facility.
- Experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with the community college experience as a student, faculty, or staff member.
- Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment.
