Nursing Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Nursing Professor to join our faculty at Connecticut State Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in the discipline area of study, including medical surgical nursing, and will be expected to contribute to the development of curriculum and program assessment.

• Teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year, including lecture, hybrid, and online courses
• Evaluate and assess student learning, provide student support and academic advising
• Plan and execute program-related events, assist with program reviews, and develop curriculum
• Periodically evaluate teaching materials, attend workshops and conferences to maintain currency in profession and field
• Attend convocation and commencement ceremonies, serve on assigned committees and task forces, and participate in committee, staff, and informational meetings

• Master's degree in Nursing
• Eligibility for or current unencumbered CT RN licensure
• Four (4) years' college teaching experience, or two (2) years' college teaching experience with four (4) or more years of clinical nursing experience
• Proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong information technology literacy skills

• Experience using simulation to teach in a nursing skills lab
• Experience teaching medical-surgical nursing in an acute care setting
• Experience as an instructor in a healthcare facility
• Familiarity with the community college experience as a student, faculty, or staff
• Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment
