Job Summary:

McWane is seeking a skilled Automated Assembly Machine Operator to join our team. As an Automated Assembly Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating the automatic assembly machine to assemble couplings in a timely and efficient manner that meet the quality standards to ensure the delivery of world-class products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Adjustments: Coordinate production changes and request maintenance for the machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform general maintenance of automated assembly equipment and its supporting equipment to prevent downtime and ensure quality production.
  • Component Loading: Load shield material and clamps into the machine and visually observe and control the flow of all component parts into designated stations.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and clear all equipment faults via the Siemens HMI to minimize production downtime.
  • Production and Quality: Responsible for production, quality of product, and documentation of daily numbers to ensure accurate reporting and quality control.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Quality Control: Verify the quality of the couplings during production, in intervals of 15-30 minutes, to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Supervision: Follow supervisors' instructions at all times and perform other duties as assigned to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

Requirements:

  • Flexibility: Must be flexible and self-motivated to adapt to changing production demands.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills to operate equipment and record production data.
  • Mechanical Abilities: Must have mechanical abilities and good manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform tasks.
  • Teamwork: Work independently and as a team player to achieve production goals.
  • Communication: Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit/stand for periods of up to 8 hours, repetitive grasping and gripping with hands, and regularly required to bend, lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Environmental Factors: Exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.
  • Education and Experience: Preferred high school or equivalent education and one year of related manufacturing experience; machine operator in metal stamping.
  • Language Skills: Preferred a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
