Job Description:

At Regions Bank, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Crimes Fraud Operations Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Crimes team, you will be responsible for leading a team focused on activities related to Fraud monitoring and prevention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of potentially fraudulent activity related to accounts or other bank products, and consult with senior management as a subject matter expert regarding critical or high-priority concerns.
  • Fraud Detection and Prevention: Identify valid and fraudulent charges, set up fraud files, use multiple research techniques to resolve issues, reconcile and summarize fraud losses, and communicate with customers to notify them of inquiry and problem resolution, ensuring satisfactory service.
  • Team Leadership: Communicate with account officers and branches, complete database for Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) referrals, and assist in ensuring that all documentation is properly maintained in case management systems.
  • Knowledge and Skill Development: Proactively identify complex schemes and transactional patterns, collaborate with management to maintain up-to-date knowledge, and assist senior management in team knowledge and skill-set development.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Offer advice and guidance to junior team members, ensuring they are equipped with the proper tools and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of experience in Financial Crimes, BSA/AML, Operations, or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: Banking loss prevention experience, experience with case management systems and databases, experience leading a team, and experience in the following systems for Debit/Credit, Direct Credit (DC) Fraud Monitoring: PRM, VRM, Mainframe, and Structured Query Language (SQL) Database.

  • Research and Analysis: Ability to research and analyze data.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Work Ethic and Self-Motivation: Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
