We are seeking a part-time After School Educator to join our dedicated team. This role involves working directly with students in grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade during after-school hours. The position requires collaboration with the Extended Day team to provide enriching experiences for children aged five to twelve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate engaging, play-based learning activities tailored for children aged five to ten.
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate programs for students in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment, including providing care and rest periods for children.
- Administer basic first aid as needed.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols to maintain a clean and secure setting.
- Work collaboratively with fellow Extended Day team members.
- Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers regarding their child's progress.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall mission of the Archdiocese of Seattle Catholic Schools.
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field; teaching credential preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children aged five to ten in educational or recreational settings.
- Experience in planning and leading activities for elementary-aged students.
- Interest in utilizing outdoor spaces to connect children with nature.
- Willingness to obtain necessary certifications required for licensed facilities.
- Physical ability to engage actively with children, including lifting and participating in activities.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff.
- Enthusiasm for working in a faith-based educational environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and cultural competence.
