Job Summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Plasma Processing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our plasma collection team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely sampling, testing, shipping, and storage of plasma collected from donors.

Main Responsibilities
  • Sample Collection and Processing: In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), you will be responsible for collecting plasma samples and moving plasma units to the freezer to ensure product quality.
  • Sample Storage and Shipping: You will ensure that plasma units are properly stored according to SOPs, which may include unsuitable plasma units and samples. Additionally, you will prepare shipping and unit disposal documentation.
  • Equipment Calibration and Maintenance: You will conduct daily calibration of equipment according to SOP and resolve calibration issues. You will also troubleshoot equipment failures and create incident documentation.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: You will monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures and immediately inform appropriate personnel if equipment is not functioning properly. You will also respond to and resolve freezer and/or refrigerator alarms.
  • Training and Development: You may provide guidance and technical training about processes and procedures to Processing Technicians and other staff as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions. Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
Working Conditions

Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and to blood-borne pathogens. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
