Job Summary

Aegon Asset Management is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our real estate asset investments through Section 42 (LIHTC) and other tax credit programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing asset values and returns according to client objectives, understanding all aspects of a property's investment strategy, and pursuing all available means to maximize cash flow and returns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Value Creation and Strategy: Identify value creation opportunities and recommend action plans to senior management to achieve desired results.
  • Portfolio Management: Proactively identify and recommend potential variations from the business plan, including preparing written recommendations to present to senior management, Investment Committee, and investors.
  • Asset Disposition: Evaluate and recommend the selective disposition of assets to maximize the return on invested capital.
  • Cash Management: Coordinate and present annual operating budgets, including the cash management strategy, and report on cash management and projected cash usage and distribution potential.
  • Asset Oversight: Actively tour portfolio assets as needed, providing feedback on material concerns, and draft and manage proactive plans for addressing any property added to the watch list.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present analysis necessary for senior management to make informed business decisions, and prepare and support the preparation of required reporting materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise asset managers and real estate analysts team members.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in commercial real estate, finance, or equivalent experience in asset management.
  • Experience: Eight years of LIHTC Asset Management and/or LIHTC real estate investment management experience.
  • Skills: Strong financial and cash flow analysis skills, understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals, investment, and market analysis, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CCIM, CPM, or MBA.
