Position Overview:

The Risk Assessment Specialist II plays a crucial role in enhancing risk management initiatives by executing standard evaluations and audits to assess the effectiveness of risk management strategies, under general supervision. This position is responsible for generating specialized reports and conducting detailed data analysis related to professional liability cases, emerging risk management trends, significant incidents, and near misses. The specialist will adhere to established protocols to monitor, identify, and report potential risks and threats effectively. In addition, the role involves responding to incidents with some guidance, utilizing established procedures for rapid response and situation management for minor to moderate events. The specialist will also provide consultative support to both clinical and non-clinical personnel regarding routine risk management concerns, requiring minimal daily oversight. Compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations, patient rights, and professional ethics is essential, with some direction.

Key Responsibilities:
Foster effective relationships by sharing resources, information, and expertise with colleagues and stakeholders. Actively seek and respond to performance feedback, pursue personal development, and adapt to changes and challenges in the workplace.Complete assignments by applying current knowledge in the field to meet deadlines, following established procedures and policies, and utilizing data and resources to support various projects with limited guidance.Ensure adherence to compliance standards by upholding relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies, serving as a liaison to assist other departments in meeting accreditation and regulatory requirements.Contribute to risk management consulting by providing guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff on routine issues, following established communication and outreach guidelines.Assist in documentation, analysis, and reporting by utilizing advanced risk management data sources to complete standard tasks, documenting trends and significant events, and producing reports for senior leadership and regulatory bodies.Support education and training initiatives by coordinating and delivering risk management training for staff and external audiences, measuring the impact of training efforts.Respond to risk management incidents by following established protocols for incident response, gathering information for investigations, and monitoring corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Assist in the implementation of risk reduction and prevention programs, conducting audits and analyses to evaluate existing risk management strategies and making recommendations for enhancements.Contribute to threat monitoring and risk prevention by identifying and reporting risks, supporting technical consulting efforts, and implementing action plans to address identified issues.Qualifications:
A minimum of two (2) years of experience with medical terminology.A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Analysis, Research, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline, along with at least one (1) year of experience in risk management or a related area, or a minimum of four (4) years of experience in risk management or a related field.Additional Skills:Knowledge and skills in confidentiality, business relationship management, conflict resolution, risk assessment, and organizational abilities.Preferred Experience:At least two (2) years of experience in risk management, quality programs, claims management, or patient safety.
