Job Title: Engineering Geologist

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Geologist to support Geo-Civil projects from our Orange, California office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping to identify geologic hazards and site characterization.
  • Provide support on the design and installation of groundwater wells and geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Interpret site conditions, including geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data, and prepare geotechnical and geologic reports.
  • Develop geologic models for complex site conditions.
  • Conduct geologic research and develop innovative solutions to advance projects with the latest technologies.
  • Perform liaison activities with regulatory agencies on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical and structural engineers to develop robust dam designs.
  • Assist in preparing project documentation, including reports, project communications, and design drawings and report figures.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalence of experience and/or education.
  • Valid US Driver's License required.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or Geological Engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience, and experience with complex subsurface investigations, including soil and rock core drilling, installation of piezometers and geotechnical instrumentation, and willingness to travel regularly for domestic and international projects.
