We are seeking a highly qualified Associate/Full Professor of Surgery to lead our Health Service Research Core. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a multi-faceted program of research and training in surgical health services research and related fields.
Key Responsibilities- Pursue a personal research portfolio and establish robust collaborations with others in the department and beyond.
- Facilitate research and funding success of all members and affiliates of the Core.
- Provide mentorship to talented trainees and play an instrumental role in creating a rich community committed to rigorous and impactful research.
- Have an established record of extramural funding for research in population-based science.
- Have methodological expertise anchored in one or more disciplines including clinical epidemiology, health disparity, implementation science, informatics, patient-centered outcomes research, or comparative effectiveness research.
- Be able to increase both the breadth and depth of methodological expertise to meet the dynamic research needs of the field and faculty/Core members.
- Participate in the Department's residency training and educational programs.
- PhD or equivalent degree.
- Established record of extramural funding for research in population-based science.
- Methodological expertise anchored in one or more disciplines including clinical epidemiology, health disparity, implementation science, informatics, patient-centered outcomes research, or comparative effectiveness research.
- Skills and/or experience in the education and mentorship of trainees at all levels.
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. Membership in the health sciences compensation plan provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
