Position Overview:
The Department of Medicine is engaged in federally funded NIH or industry-sponsored clinical research that encompasses pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biological agents, imaging, and innovative technologies. This role is pivotal in coordinating clinical trials within the department, delivering nursing care to research participants, and overseeing research protocols. The Department of Medicine comprises eleven divisions that represent a broad spectrum of internal medicine subspecialties. This role supports clinical trials and may collaborate with study teams across various divisions based on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics Management: Secure and organize logistics for clinical research projects as per the research plan (5%)
- Participant Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment and screening of subjects for clinical studies through physical health assessments (20%)
- Nursing Care: Provide professional nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols (10%)
- Participant Guidance: Offer treatment plan direction and information to study participants (5%)
- Communication Liaison: Act as the primary contact for project participants, investigators, research sponsors, and the research team, ensuring the delivery of study information in line with established project standards (10%)
- Data Management: Collect, verify, and input data into databases while analyzing clinical information (20%)
- Emergency Response: Serve as the main contact for urgent situations involving study participants related to adverse effects or complications (5%)
- Community Engagement: Provide expertise, training, and guidance to peers and students (5%)
- Documentation Preparation: Prepare information, consent, and authorization for research participants (10%)
- Regulatory Compliance: Initiate and maintain clinical research regulatory compliance for assigned protocols, including IRB approval and regulatory documents per FDA, HHS, and GCP guidelines (5%)
- Budget Development: Assist in creating a comprehensive budget for each clinical research protocol (5%)

Qualifications:
- Education: Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Licensure: Eligibility for RN license in the State of Wisconsin is required.
- Experience: Nursing experience is essential; experience in clinical trials and knowledge of good clinical practices and federal research regulations is preferred.
- Skills: Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and possess excellent time management abilities. The ability to work independently or collaboratively while managing multiple projects is crucial.

Work Type:
Full or Part Time: 60% - 100%
This position requires in-person work at a designated campus location.

Salary:
Minimum: $62,500 ANNUAL (12 months)
The expected salary range for this position is $62,500 up to $87,500 for highly experienced candidates. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
