Clinical Research Nurse

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Nurse to join our clinical research team. As a Research Nurse, you will play a critical role in coordinating and managing various clinical trials in the areas of movement disorders, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and neuromuscular disorders.
Responsibilities- Assist in research logistics management, screen study participants, and provide participant information and clinical care according to established research plans.
- Secure and schedule logistics for clinical research projects according to the research plan.
- Assist in the recruitment and screening of subjects for clinical studies by conducting physical health assessments.
- Provide professional nursing care to patients according to established protocols.
- Provide appropriate treatment plan direction and information to study participants.
- Serve as the main point of contact and liaison to project participants, investigators, research sponsors, and the research team.
- Collect, verify, and enter data into database and analyze clinical information data.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for emergent study participant situations related to adverse effects or complications of the study.
- May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students.
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of research work unit.
- Knowledge of clinical research principles and regulations.
- Experience with IRB and clinical research studies.
- At least 1 year of experience in clinical research studies or nursing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Medical or Social Sciences, or related field.
Work EnvironmentThis position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
