Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Build and maintain a portfolio of commercial lines business, identifying new opportunities and growing existing relationships.
  • Underwriting and Risk Management: Conduct thorough underwriting and risk assessments to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for large or complex renewals and new business.
  • Agency Relationships: Manage and maintain strong relationships with agencies and brokers, providing exceptional service and support.
  • Marketing and Sales: Develop and execute marketing plans to increase new and renewal business, including creating and implementing sales strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and develop Assistant and Associate Underwriters, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of commercial lines underwriting or brokerage experience, with excess and surplus experience preferred.
  • Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing, proven organization skills, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Professional Development: Interest in continued education and professional development, with insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or comparable designations preferred.
