Job Overview

Position Summary

This role involves close collaboration with the EGS C3 Systems Engineering manager. The primary focus will be on the oversight of subsystem-level requirements development, ensuring their fulfillment and closure, and confirming that the necessary requirements for the Artemis Launch Control System (LCS) are accurately documented in the relevant requirements tracking database and testing protocols. Innovation is highly encouraged in this position.

Key Responsibilities

The Command, Control and Communications (C3) Launch Control System (LCS) Ground Integration Engineer (GIE) is responsible for managing LCS Program Requirements while conducting comprehensive tracking of the LCS Validation & Verification objectives and maintaining the technical baseline for LCS. This includes supervising the LCS Subsystem software development process to ensure that the LCS Subsystem delivers products that meet the C3 LCS Program Requirements imposed on LCS Subsystem Engineering. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing and approving LCS System Verification & Validation (V&V) Test Procedures and Test Reports.
  • Reviewing and approving LCS Subsystem CSCI/HWCI Design Documents and Test Procedures.
  • Supporting LCS Subsystem Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Championing LCS Requirements, which involves (1) adding/modifying/deleting LCS Program requirements and Stakeholder expectations; (2) processing Change Requests (CRs) from initiation to completion; (3) drafting and advocating for EGS Waivers/Deviations and facilitating resolutions between development and Operations.
  • Executing GIE duties/responsibilities during LCS VSR & Certification Reviews.
  • Reviewing and accepting LCS System V&V as evidence used to fulfill LCS Program requirements and Stakeholder Expectations according to the EGS approved baseline.
  • Monitoring and participating in LCS Analysis tasks as necessary.
  • Submitting weekly status reports for LCS GIE to C3 and presenting at C3 Integration weekly meetings.

Required Skills

Preferred knowledge of the following applications: ClearQuest, Accurev, CodeCollaborator, Windchill, Cradle, OMRS Database, KDDMS, Maximo, TechDoc, Version One.

Essential knowledge includes proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Key skills required are excellent communication abilities, strong presentation skills, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while also being comfortable in a collaborative team environment.

Educational Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) is required, preferably in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred (years of experience may substitute for a Master's degree). A comprehensive understanding of theories, concepts, and practices is essential, along with the ability to apply this knowledge in complex situations. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
