Compensation Structure

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under general supervision, the Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting assessments and providing therapeutic interventions for children in accordance with their Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or Individual Education Plan (IEP). The role involves collaboration with parents and multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting speech and language assessments to evaluate the developmental levels and needs of students.
  • Interpreting assessment results and compiling reports for relevant educational and regulatory bodies.
  • Designing and implementing targeted speech and language therapy interventions based on established objectives.
  • Administering assessments to monitor student progress in alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Providing detailed reports of therapy outcomes to families and educational teams.
  • Evaluating oral motor skills and feeding capabilities.
  • Creating individualized treatment plans tailored to specific disabilities.
  • Staying informed about the latest communication strategies and assistive technologies.
  • Utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance and therapy progress.
  • Communicating regularly with parents/guardians regarding therapy updates.
  • Participating in team meetings and case discussions as necessary.
  • Ensuring that services provided align with the needs of each child and comply with educational and regulatory standards.
  • Engaging in initial evaluations and intake procedures.
  • Completing all required documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Providing guidance and oversight to students and Clinical Fellows as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with colleagues, families, and external contacts.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with Assistive Technology and Augmentative Communication methods is preferred.
  • Competence in using computers and electronic devices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology is required, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in the field.

CERTIFICATIONS
  • Current state licensure in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency.
  • Certification from the state education department as a TSHH or TSSLD.
