Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Scribe to join our team at Proliance Surgeons. As a Medical Scribe, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our medical records. Your attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately document medical visits and procedures in a timely manner
  • Provide assistance to physicians during patient exams, including setting up for procedures and answering phone calls
  • Obtain and document patient chief complaints and constitutional exam elements
  • Anticipate and accommodate individual physician preferences and protocols
  • Navigate electronic medical records systems to find necessary information
  • Ensure patient history forms are complete and accurate
  • Review and modify HPI and additional patient information as needed
  • Document detailed information and input data into patient records
  • Operate as a go-to resource for billing questions and resolve issues with expertise
  • Maintain responsibility for accurate diagnosis coding and documentation
  • Document findings of diagnostic tests and complete charts under physician direction
  • Review log procedures for billing accuracy and spot mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation
  • Facilitate patient flow through the clinic and assist with phone triage, prescription refills, and lab requisitions
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of one year of experience in a medical office
  • Experience and/or certification as a medical assistant is strongly preferred
  • Current knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and coding principles
  • Strong keyboard and computer skills, with working knowledge of MS Word
  • Superior customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

The work environment for this position is a fast-paced medical office setting. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and accurately, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
