This position is essential for the thorough planning, execution, and assessment of tests aimed at validating autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems in alignment with engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with commercial survey engineers to interpret and convert technical requirements into comprehensive test strategies.
  • Design and implement extensive test campaigns for AUV development, integration, validation, and acceptance testing, ensuring adherence to specified criteria.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the systems engineering team and field operators, guaranteeing clarity and feasibility of testing objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed test documentation, including scopes, plans, procedures, and reports.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of test data, providing valuable insights to both engineering and operational teams to facilitate necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements in testing methodologies to improve system reliability and operational effectiveness.
  • Offer technical support and guidance to field operations during AUV deployment and testing scenarios.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in marine technology, robotics, or systems engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience in testing and evaluation within marine autonomous systems or related ocean technology fields.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a proven track record of developing detailed test plans and reports.
  • Familiarity with sonar systems, underwater acoustics, and subsea navigation as they pertain to AUV operations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, effective for diverse audiences.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to participate in at-sea campaigns for extended periods.
