Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia Department of General Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Officer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for procuring goods and services for the department's divisions and business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure complex goods and services for the department's divisions and business units
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the department's needs
  • Conduct negotiations with vendors and suppliers
  • Manage and administer contracts
  • Provide leadership and guidance to business teams

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of procurement principles and practices
  • Experience with automated procurement systems and e-procurement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Virginia Public Procurement Act and the Department of General Services' procurement policies and procedures
  • Experience with the Commonwealth of Virginia's eVA procurement system
  • Professional certification as a Virginia Contracting Officer or Virginia Construction Contracting Officer
