Job Overview

This role is essential in providing assistance to various teams within the Operations Department, ensuring the effective and efficient execution of departmental tasks. Responsibilities encompass a range of services including custodial duties, waste management, landscaping, mail handling, event assistance, delivery services, and dining support.

This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with eligibility for benefits. Part-time roles require a commitment of 20 hours per week, while full-time positions entail 40 hours per week. The starting hourly wage for this role is $22.28.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain institutional equipment to efficiently support campus operations, including event coordination and the upkeep of institutional assets.
  • Perform cleaning, maintenance, and disinfection of all interior and exterior areas of college facilities.
  • Provide moving and delivery services, organize warehousing, and oversee campus storage areas.
  • Regularly move and arrange furniture for various setups, including events, according to provided diagrams and instructions.
  • Adhere to established protocols for safely cleaning up potentially hazardous substances.
  • Maintain and care for campus grounds, including tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, mulching, and snow removal.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and follow directions from team leaders and supervisors. Complete additional tasks as assigned to support departmental objectives, ensuring all duties are performed safely and professionally.
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to follow both oral and written instructions. Capable of building positive relationships with supervisors, coworkers, students, and vendors.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans and execute event diagrams accurately.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required, with a preference for candidates possessing three years of experience in custodial work, maintenance trades, and equipment operation. A minimum of three years of driving experience is also required, preferably with large vans or box trucks.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:

Physical tasks include frequent lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, walking, reaching overhead, and climbing stairs or ladders. Work is conducted across multiple buildings daily, necessitating movement between locations in various weather conditions. Candidates should be capable of performing manual tasks that require moderate physical strength. Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and overtime, is essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
