Utilize your expertise in a vibrant, expanding nonprofit organization dedicated to providing rehabilitation and training services to numerous adults who are blind or visually impaired throughout New Hampshire.
Engage in one-on-one sessions with adults and seniors in their residences to assess the impact of vision loss on their daily activities and offer strategies to adapt tasks or environments to enhance safety and independence.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Seacoast area and is interested in full-time opportunities; however, other applicants may be considered based on their qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess client requirements, establish objectives collaboratively with the client, and formulate a tailored treatment plan.
- Instruct individuals in skills and techniques necessary for participation in various activities.
- Suggest specialized equipment and modifications to the client's living space.
- Provide personalized training with low vision aids, devices, and assistive technology as needed.
- Track client progress throughout the treatment process, prepare documentation, and communicate with referring physicians or agencies; maintain appropriate records and reports.
- Select constructive activities that align with an individual's physical abilities, cognitive function, and interests to promote independence, assist in the restoration of functions, and facilitate adjustment to disabilities.
- Independently manage scheduling and client caseload.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Licensed occupational therapist eligible to practice in NH.
- Experience in low vision rehabilitation is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
- Be knowledgeable and passionate about the programs and services offered by Future In Sight.
- Conduct all responsibilities in a professional manner.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.
- Foster positive relationships and demonstrate tact and sensitivity when interacting with clients, consumers, board members, volunteers, and vendors.
- Uphold the mission and values of Future In Sight as outlined in the agency's Mission and Vision statements.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $40.00 per hour
