Job Summary

The Task Force General Manager is a key leadership position within JL Hospitality Management, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned hotels during vacancies or leave. When not assigned to a specific property, this individual will provide support to JL Hospitality Management on various projects and/or other assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage hotel operations, including associate development, quality assurance, and active participation in all departments.
  • Adhere to Marriott brand standards and JL Hospitality Management's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Work effectively with JL Hospitality Management leaders in all disciplines.
  • Implement hands-on approach in all areas of the operation.
  • Create an environment where associates can reach their full potential by being a role model, strong communicator, effective trainer, and mentor.
  • Oversight of all department functions, including housekeeping, front office, maintenance, etc.
  • Tour and inspect property on a routine basis to monitor cleanliness, safety, and security, product quality, and exceptional service.
  • Facilitate creative solutions to overcome obstacles and ensure continuous guest satisfaction results.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting to maximize hotel revenue and profit.
  • Participate in revenue management calls, sales calls, and leadership meetings as scheduled.
Requirements
  • A strong operator with a broad vision for excellence.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and basic accounting.
  • Ability to influence and achieve results in the areas of profitability and REVPAR.
  • Demonstrated passion and sense of urgency in the achievement of results.

  • Proficiency with Fosse PMS system a plus.

Education and Experience
  • College degree a plus.
  • At least two years related experience required.
  • Previous General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience in a Marriott branded select service hotel environment preferred.
